Quality wire rod for drawing
Low-carbon steels with excellent drawing characteristics for the production of nets, nails, bright and chromium-plated wires, galvanized wires, commercial chains and flat profiles obtained by cold-rolling, chain.

Special wire rod for drawing
This wide family of carbon steels can be divided into three sub-groups, each with its own specific features:
1. Drawn wires for mechanical springs, where excellent axial segregation and cleanliness levels are required
2. Wires and strands for pre-stressed concrete, where high mechanical strength is required with carbon exceeding 0.8% and low-alloy elements added such as Cr and V.
3. Wires to be used for bed springs, ropes and cables, chains, and rolled profiles of equivalent complexity.

Wire rod for cold-moulding of screws and bolts
These steels are used for the production of screws, bolts or other specifically-drawn elements by plastic deformation from moulding or extrusion. They require high ductility, excellent surface quality and high cleanliness levels. Steels used include low-carbon steels – used for high deformation – to tempering carbon steels for high-resistance bolts used in automotive industry.
Wire rod for electrodes and welding wire
Steels with low carbon content and very low S and P are used for electrodes, while steels with low carbon and high Si and Mn are used for welding wire. In this case, the chemical composition required must meet special weldability requirements and, at the same time, it must not affect the microstructure of the manufactured wire rod, to maintain the reduction capabilities, as required.

Wire rod for tires
These carbon steels are used to manufacture very thin wires for weaving the wiremesh st ructures and must comply with the most stringent specifications. The steel must adhere to strict levels of homogeneity, microcleanliness, microstructure and decarburization, surface quality and geometric profile. These features are obtained by specific processes in both casting and rolling followed by very precise product checks conducted by the most sophisticated instruments.
